A recent insert in the pages of Money Magazine (June 2007) highlighted the cost for two box seats down the third base line, two Coke’s, and two hot dogs. How anyone can afford a Major League Game anymore is beyond me. Here are the results.
Arizona Diamondbacks $127
Chigago Cubs $130.50
Boston Red Sox $235
Colorado Rockies $175
Los Angeles Angels $91
New York Yankees $176.50
And then there is the baseball here in Anderson, SC.
Anderson Joes $20
I can get the above mentioned items for right around $20. Now the baseball is . . . . well . . . . not quite as good. But it is baseball. It is under the lights with great sunset views. It comes complete with inebriated hecklers, genuine fans, foul ball chases by young kids and bad between inning entertainment (sunflower seed spitting contest). And it’s great.
Here’s to minor league baseball!
